New Races

In addition to the races present in the Savage Worlds Science Fiction Companion (and by extent, their The Last Parsec setting book), we’re adding numerous new races using the race creation rules in that Companion. Literally anything will work provided it fits those rules.

Below are a number of new ones created. Go wild, have fun!

Caecilians (Worms)

  • Burrowing 1/2 Pace
  • Strength Increase +1
  • Large Size (+1 Toughness)
  • Fleet-Footed (+2 Pace, d10 Running)
  • One Arm (-4 to tasks requiring two hands)
  • Bad Eyes (-2 Shoot/Notice at 5+")

Eckorrel (Flying Squirrels)

  • Flight (Pace, Climb 0)
  • Agility Increase +1
  • Small, very small, -2 Toughness

Glops (Jelly Blobs)

The natural form of a Glop is a roughly 4ft-cubed blob of colored jelly. Glops have a weird special thing they can do, by shoving themselves into armor sized between Sizes 0 and +2. The armor must be full-body, otherwise they ooze out of it. While in this shape they can move at Pace 4, and make use of the armor. They can maintain this without issue for hours = half Vigor die. After that, they must make continual Vigor tests with cumulative -1 penalties beyond the first, or suffer cumulative fatigue, and then wounds. Additionally, the armor begins to degrade as their enzymes melt it away, reducing armor value by -1 every four hours, regardless of their vigor. Armor reduced to zero in this fashion falls into pieces and ejects the Glop.

  • Cannot Speak (-1: Glops communicate only through jiggles and bloops)
  • Doesn’t Breathe (-1: Glops don’t need to process air in order to live)
  • No Vital Organs (1: Called shots do no extra)
  • Outsider (-1: Glops are just weird and kinda creepy)
  • Poor Parry (-1: Parry reduced by -1)
  • Regeneration (2: Special, can make natural healing every 12 hours, but requires engulfing significant organic matter)
  • Slow x2 (-2: Pace 2 with d4 running die in natural form)
  • Toughness (3: +3 toughness because they just absorb so much damage)

Glops (Super Power Alternate Version)

  • Super Power Power (2 pts, required)
  • Regeneration (4, as Power: rolls every hour, can reform even traumatic damage, all permanent injuries are temporary
  • Altered Form, Limited, Viscous (3, as Power: Made of goo! No called shots, can squeeze through openings and cracks, but cannot reduce or alter size)
  • Doesn’t Breathe (1: Glops don’t need to process air in order to live)
  • Bizarre Anatomy (-2: cannot take cybernetics, cannot use standard healing kits, and even expert healing tools are rolled with -2)
  • Cannot Speak (-1: Glops communicate only through jiggles and bloops)
  • Outsider (-1: Glops are just weird and kinda creepy)
  • Poor Parry (-1: Parry reduced by -1)
  • Slow x2 (-2: Pace 2 with d4 running die in natural form)
  • Small (-1: Toughness -1)

Grenouille (Frogs)

  • Poisonous Touch
  • Immune to Poison
  • Reach
  • Wanted
  • Small (-1 Toughness)

Urso (Bears)

  • Armor +4
  • Toughness +2
  • Dependency (Must eat carbon-heavy diet)
  • Slow (4" Pace, d4 Running)

Yellers (Everyone Hates These Guys)

  • Adaptable
  • Sleep Reduction (1/2)
  • Keen Sense of Taste +4
  • Yellow (-2 Spirit vs fear)
  • Ugly (-2 Charisma)
